Srimad-Valmiki-Ramayanam is a Pratyaksha-Anugraha-Grantha, which means any bhaktha who takes up this grantha would be blessed in multiple ways.

 Mere listening to a few shlokas or letters have amazing curative abilities.

चरितं रघुनाथस्य शतकोटिप्रविस्तरम् ।

एकैकमक्षरं प्रोक्तं महापातकनाशनम् ॥

caritaṃ raghunāthasya śatakoṭipravistaram ।

ekaikamakṣaraṃ proktaṃ mahāpātakanāśanam ॥

25th March 2020 to 2nd April 2020 is called as ‘ Vasanta-Navarathri’ which is celebrated during the lunar month of Chaithra.

During these 9 days special parayanam of Srimad-Valmiki-Ramayanam is performed and is termed as ‘Garbhotsavam’ – the festival leading to birth of SriRama, celebrated on 2nd April as Rama Navami.

In Uttrakhanda of SkaandaPurana, in the RamayanaMaahatmya, the 4th adhyaya talks about the greatness of doing Anusandhaanam of Ramayanam during the Chaitra-Maasa.  The benefits are further multiplied and enhanced.  This would be a great upaaya to overcome any ailments mental or physical.

चैत्रे मासि सिते पक्षे कथा रामायणस्य च |

नवाह्ना किल श्रोतव्या भक्तिभावेन सादरम् |

यस्य श्रवणमात्रेण सर्वपापैः प्रमुच्यते ||

In the Shukla paksha of Chaitra maasa, the story of Ramayana must be recited with devotion and respect over a period of 9 days. By just listening to this parayana, a man is freed from all sins.

The paarayana Yajna was conducted from 25th March 2020 to 2nd April 2020, and live-streamed through YouTube.

This parayanam was done as followed in navaaha-tradition, to complete the prescribed syllabus in prescribe timeline.

Bhaktas can follow/listen along with the parayana-kartas. ‘Shri Vigneshwara Venkateshwara Press’ publication will be used for Parayanam.

Other versions may be used, subject to Paatha-bhedas.
