Recitation and memorization of shlokas has been an ancient and time-tested technique to boost memory power. It acts as a powerful and positive stimulant for today’s feverish younger generation. Scientific research proves that recitation of metre bound shlokas augments memory power, concentration and retention capacities of the learner.
Laghu Stotramala is a collection of stotras composed by Sri Sri Krishnapremi Swamigal, Paranur. It comprises of 4 parts – Part 1 contains simple, delectable verses mostly in the anushtubh metrical pattern. Profound in meaning, these are easy-to-learn verses and offer sheer joy to young learners and beginners alike.
In this course, 10 stotras (Nearly 150 shlokas) from the Laghu Stotramala Part 1 will be taught over a period of 7-8 months.
सात्त्विकस्मरणम् (sāttvikasmaraṇam) – 8 shlokas
नदीस्तोत्रम् (nadīstotram) – 6 shlokas
अष्टश्लोकी (aṣṭaślokī) – 9 shlokas
श्रीगुरोरष्टकम् (śrīguroraṣṭakam) – 9 shlokas
रुद्राष्टकम् (rudrāṣṭakam) – 9 shlokas
अक्षरमालिका (akṣaramālikā) – 55 shlokas (Shlokas starting from each letter of the Sanskrit alphabet. Akṣaramālā is an initiative to introduce to the young learner the devanāgarī–akṣaras through the recitation of ślokas.
नृसिंहपञ्चामृतम् (nṛsiṃhapañcāmṛtam) – 6 shlokas
लक्ष्मीस्तोत्रम् (lakṣmīstotram) – 25 shlokas
गरुडपञ्चकम् (garuḍapañcakam) – 6 shlokas
दशावतारमङ्गलम् (daśāvatāramaṅgalam) – 11 shlokas
Various stotras to be rendered on different time periods of the day/stotras on various deities and for diverse occasions will be taught. The students stand an advantage of acquiring quick competency over the Devanāgarī script.
Note – Only the chanting of shlokas with good pronunciation will be taught. Meanings of shlokas will not be covered in this course.
Medium of teaching – language-independent, as the focus in only on repetition of the shloka which is taught. Interaction with students will be in Tamil /English.
Eligibility – Devotion, Interest to learn shlokas. The course is mainly targetted at children. Adults are also welcome to join and learn. [During the group class, for chanting and repeating, preference will be given to children].

The classes are conducted through Zoom. Once you join the course, you will get a link with the Zoom meeting link.
Co-ordination of classes will be done through a Whatsapp group. Once you join the group, you will get a Whatsapp group invite.
An examination will be conducted at the end of the course, and a certificate will be issued to all successful participants by Vyoma Labs.
