Description

Understanding the Gītā – Verse by Verse

This is a virtual webinar course for learners who want to understand the Bhagavadgītā in an elaborate manner.

While the course is deliberately structured to stay away from Sanskrit word by word meaning as well as anvaya, it will cover the meaning of each verse and the significance as well. Gradually the student will be introduced to important Sanskrit terms also.

Key Benefits

  1. Good understanding of the Gītā and its practical relevance
  2. Framework and Guidelines from the Gītā for Householders and Professionals to lead a spiritually aligned life
  3. Knowledge of key concepts of Vedānta in the light of the Gītā verses

Meant For

Beginners who have faith (śraddhā) in the scriptures, and have just started a study of Vedānta. No prior knowledge of Sanskrit language or Devanagari script is required. Learners will be slowly introduced to the key Sanskrit terms required for understanding the text.

Please note that this course is not meant for advanced students in Sanskrit or śāstras. It is also not for students who already have a basic knowledge of Sanskrit grammar and kāvyas, nor for students preparing for Bhagavadgītā exams of Samskrita Bharathi. The lectures will be completely in English, and one of the objectives of the course is to reach the teachings of Gita in English to an audience that feels constrained due to lack of Sanskrit knowledge.

Schedule of classes – Every Sunday, 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM IST

About the course
